The Top 5 Wii games, from the point of view of a 15 year old lad.

We’re bored of hearing reviews from 30 something year-old men, so we thought we’d ask someone who knows, talks about Wii games with his mates and so has the perfect opinion. A teenager.

5. Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4

The Lego games have always taken my fancy with classics such as Lego Star Wars which I think could easily take the place of this but with Lego Harry Potter I just couldn’t keep off this game. With the fun and exciting gameplays and the fantastically funny gags and humour to this game i think that it is utterly brilliant. With the whole of Hogwarts to explore and all the sidequests and puzzles you’ll find that you can spend hours on this game.

The game is like any other lego game with stud and character collecting, but with this game I think it’s a cut above the rest with the lovable spells and different characters from harry to fang the dog. I think that with this game and with all lego games in general are a bit easy and could always use with a little more difficulty put into place, rather than relying on my foolish gaming mistakes that make me question what on earth I was thinking.

4. Kirby’s Epic Yarn

I could give one look at this game with all the very childish looks of yarn and think that this game is not for me, obviously though i need to stop judging a book by it’s cover. This game provides great gameplay for a platformer with a wide variety of levels and enimies to defeat and things to do. I found myself being sucked into my own little world playing this game with the lovable style of graphics.

This game is great for especially casual, more relaxed gamers like me. If your into killing everything on something like COD this may not be the type of game for you as killing enemies is only a matter of unraveling yarn. Although this game is fun and enjoyable as i played it, i just got reminded of New Super Mario Bros. Wii which when playing a brand new game it’s never a good thing to have sort of a feeling like you’ve done this before but that might just be me. All in all this game is loads of fun with lot’s of things to do and great replay value.

3. Mario Kart Wii

This game is just a classic game for the wii. I have spent lot’s of time playing through this game and also going online and racing friends and random people around the world. if you havn’t experienced the online aspects of this game then you have to play this game as soon as possible. My friends love doing it as a social experience with other people as when games say that the multiplayer is great near enough 99.9% of the time i won’t even consider going on with my friends but this is different, the amount of times i’ve invited friends round to play this game is endless.

The game provides many different characters and karts to make your favourites. Although all the praise goes to the multiplayer experience the solo game is quite lacking compared. All you do with the solo game is collect all the karts and characters once you’ve done that there really isn’t much you can do as you get a bit bored just driving by yourself. So if this game is to reach it’s best, you need to be able to get online or have some friends come round.

2. Super Smash Bros Brawl

All my childhood gaming figures jumping into one game and beating each other up? Absolute gaming brilliance. In this game you have such a wide variety of characters and places to fight it’s just a joy to behold as this is the only game that involves fighting that i enjoy, so it has to be good. With the solo player and the big adventure gives the game more depth instead of just other fighting games where you just beat people up. All the music, stickers and trophies give the game alot to collect and gives you alot more to do.

The online is brilliant also with this game and the quirky modes and missions give this game a whole new experience with all the fresh and unique ideas. This game also leaves perfect opportunities for sequals with more characters and items to put in and the introduction of snake and sonic leaves your mind open to what other characters they can put in. Even so this game has plenty of characters to select which ones match your playing style. Truely a great game that you just can’t stop coming back to.

1. Super Mario Galaxy 2

This is possibly one of the best games i have ever played. I grew up with playing Mario and they just seem to get better and better and i just don’t see how you can top this triumph. Flying round space with such a diverse variety of levels and lands whitch as you play them seem to get more and more ingenius. Nintendo hit a big success with super mario galaxy and i think they took what everyone loved about it and took out what didn’t work and made this game great for all types of gamers.

Even when writing about this game it just makes me think of all the wonderful times i had playing through this game, it’s fun, creative and a challange to even the best of gamers. When I think of this games title I think it’s going to be just a rip off of the original but with this game although it has the same controls and gameplay as the first it feels like your going on a brand new game, or like you are experiencing a brand new mario game with all it’s new features like the new powerup suits for mario give the game a nice touch, the return of Yoshi was a strike of creative genius as you can explore the stars with your little dinosaur pet and all the new types of levels where you could be flying on a bird or sliding down a gigantic tree. Super Mario Galaxy 2 is definitely the best game you could buy for the wii in my opinion and it’s going to take a game that leaves me completely speechless to get anywhere near this game.
